Instagram and iphone photographs

I have a few cameras, film, digital, full frame and the trusty i-phone.

On Instagram I tend to share a lot of my i-phone images, here are some of them.

New music July 2021

It has been a long while since i posted about new music on here, a friend reminded me.
So here I am, thank you E.M. xx.

These are a few things I have stumbled across and am enjoy of late.

Jim Ford- : 'Go Through Sunday'.

I don't know much about Jim Ford. he was born in 1941, released one LP in his life (Harlan county' in 1969) and died in 2007. This track is from a collection of singles and unreleased masters which came out in the year he died. I know I really like this track and it makes me wonder what could have been for Jim...

Max Richter- 'Little Requiems' from the LP 'Voices'.

I love Max Richter and while I am yet to listen to this Lp as a whole, the concept is fascinating.
according to really great article in pitchfork magazine, it is  based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948. read more here:

Little Simz - 'Woman'.
A while back, my boss at my day job suggested I check out Little Simz. He had seen her live and was blown away. So began my love of her 2019 LP 'Grey Area'. Little Simz was born Simbiatu "Simbi" Abisola Abiola Ajikawo, In the U.K. to Nigerian parents.

This track 'Woman' (featuring Cleo), has such a great groove and is from her upcoming LP 'Sometimes I might be introvert [sic]'.

Dry Cleaning- 'Scratchcard Lanyard'

Dry Cleaning are an English post punk/art rock band that utilise a spoken style, against a wall of driving music.  They have released their first LP 'New Long leg'. I am still not sure if I love the LP yet, but it is widely hailed as one of the best LP's of the year so far.

The Reds, Pinks and Purples - 'Uncommon weather'.
I love this LP. It reminds me of 80's indie,  lo fi alternate pop music.
A time when songs didn't outstay their welcome. Itwas also a time when making an earnest, heartfelt creative/musical statement was more important that polish and production.
According to the Label's website (tough Love records), Glenn Donaldson is The Red's, Pinks and Purples, and he self recorded and mostly self-performed this LP. They also state " The Reds, Pinks and Purples' third album, called "Uncommon Weather," is both an elusive portrait of San Francisco — during one of its fluctuations as an untenable place for musicians and artists"

CCP Salon

If you are in Melbourne, (Aus), I have a few (six) pieces in the CCP salon. Have a look online or go in and see the works in person. So many wonderful images.

I just found out that this small (4x5 inches), experimental piece of mine has sold.
.
Title: 'Blended memory #2. From Swansea to Port Arthur, Tasmania (2019).'
.
We travelled across the land, with the sea at one side. We talked about our past relationships, and of our hopeful future together. Some of the moments we shared are still vividly clear. Some have merged and are blended. While the trip itself has in most parts, become dreamlike, the feeling of hopefulness we shared, remains clear and strong.
