35mm Film

I have been busy working away on photography, both digital and analog photography.

Here is some recent 35mm film photography, I had scanned in.

AK and I, exploring (#19).
Ilford FP4 plus, 35mm film.
Taken in mid 2017.

AK and I, exploring the city.
Kodak Gold 200, 35mm film.

Taken in late 2017.

These next ones are triple exposures, where I took three images, one over the other (all in camera). Crop and post editing processing (slight tweaking) done on the computer.

Not sure what happened here, but my 35mm scanner can't seem to handle too much saturated color in film negatives and sometimes does weird, unexpected things.

Working away

A friend recently asked if I was in a creative slump as he hadn't seen much output from me.
I smiled and told him that I am busy working away, creating new work and exploring new mediums (I am also posting regularly on instagram, Ello and tumblr).

I have taken so many photos, that I am still slowly working my way through images I captured at the start of 2017, as well as working my way through mixed-media pieces I created in 2015 & 2016!

Here are some things I have been working on recently.
.
"Middle age, an autoportrait. Also known as- trying out my old 20mm film lens, on my full frame camera."  I took this as i decided to brush the cobwebs of an old 20mm film lens I had. This image is only from a few weeks ago.

“I lie about the size of my cock. I say it is much bigger than it is, it makes me feel like I am more of a man, stronger, more powerful.”

This piece from a series in Feb 2017,  aims to explore aspects of toxic masculinity. .

Torn, decayed and beautiful

I thought it time to once more share some of my urban decay works. These are works, where I find beauty in spaces which are widely believed to be devalued.

Melbourne

I have been working on a small photography job, where I needed to provide four images of Melbourne to have put in a small city shop. In the process of taking some new shots and relooking at some older shots to possibly use, I thought I would share these with you. Some of these have been shared previously on this blog.

Late Autumn, Early Winter in Melbourne 2016

Here are a few photographs I have taken whilst walking about over the past 3-4 weeks. Just as Autumn turned to Winter.

I love reflections:

The sun is so low around this time of year. Here is a shot taken around midday, where the shadows were long:

Something bright and colourful:

The city after the rain.

After a recent couple of days of rain and constant drizzle, AK and I went into the city and took our cameras. I am often captivated by reflections and/or shadows.
Here are a few images I took of wet Melbourne, its reflections and shadows.

AK is so cheeky getting in my shots! I think he secretly loves having his photo taken!

These next few images are about the play between shadow and light, negative space, lines and texture.

Wet city spaces:
